2025 Annual Abortion Report

Drug-Induced Abortions Appear to Show Increase in Connecticut

Planned Parenthood Misleads Public on Additional State Funding

In its report, State of Abortion in Connecticut - 2025, the Connecticut Catholic Conference revealed that the continuing increase in the number of abortions in the state appears to be driven by the use of medical (drug-induced) abortions.

Additional analysis of data from the Connecticut Department of Public Health reveals alarming statistics. The number of all types of abortions has increased by 46% from 2021 to 2024. In 2024, the use of drug-induced abortions accounted for 70% of all abortions in the state, which is much higher than the 44% of drug-induced abortions in 2015. These numbers only reflect medical abortions through Connecticut providers, and not abortions where prescriptions were obtained out-of-state over the internet.

The report also concludes Planned Parenthood of Southern New England (PPSNE) continues to mislead the public and elected officials on its need for more state funding. PPSNE is awash in cash according to its IRS tax filings. It had a “rainy day” endowment fund valued at over $49.5 million as of June 2024. Since 2018, the endowment fund has increased by 287%.

The Governor and legislative leadership must halt their preferential treatment to Planned Parenthood of Southern New England which results in easy and unnecessary access to taxpayer money.
