Sending A Pro-Life Message In An Abortion State

2024 March for Life

The Third Annual Connecticut March for Life drew over 2,000 people to Hartford to proclaim that all life is sacred from conception to natural death. In a state that has almost no limits on abortion, and is a sanctuary state for abortion providers, the March was a big success.

Legislative Committee Votes to Support Constitutional Amendment on Abortion and to Include Gender-Identity under the Protections for Sex Discrimination

After receiving 230 testimonies opposed, and only 8 in support,  the Government Administration and Elections Committee voted out proposed legislation, Senate Joint Resolution 4, which redefines "sex" discrimination through a constitutional amendment to include pregnancy termination (abortion) and "gender-identity and expression and sexual orientation" among another items. Obviously, the stage was set for passage of the bill prior to the public hearing. The hearing was just a formality.

The language of SJ 4  redefines sex discrimination to include "but is not limited to, discrimination, in intent or effect, based on pregnancy, including preventing, initiating, continuing or terminating a pregnancy; sexual orientation; gender identity and expression; and related health care. " It also actually redefines "sex" to not just mean male or female, but any gender identity a person assumes. This constitutional amendment will have far reaching impacts.

Representative Berger-Girvalo (Ridgefield) stated during the committee vote on constitutional amendment SJ 4 that there is no research that shows that trans-women (biological males) have a competitive advantage over biological girls. She should have gone to Google or read some of the testimonies, such as this one. It is basic biology.

Maybe she needs to do what NPR did.

Public Health Committee Passes Legislation Supported by Abortion Advocates That is Aimed Directly at the Religious Freedom of Catholic Hospitals

The aim, led by abortion extremists, is to create a law that makes it possible for medical providers within a Catholic hospital to violate Catholic healthcare directives with impunity. The Connecticut Catholic Public Affairs Conference stands strongly in opposition to HB 5424.
