Federal School Choice Law Passes

Encourage Governor Lamont to Approve Connecticut's Participation in the Educational Choice for Children Scholarship Program

The ECCA (Educational Choice for Children Act) was part of what is commonly called the "One Big Beautiful Bill" passed by Congress. The bill establishes a federal tax credit for individuals and corporations who donate to private scholarship-granting organizations, which would then use the funds to provide scholarships for K-12 students to attend private and religious schools. This creates a great opportunity to assist low-income children seeking an alternative to the public school system.

The Connecticut Catholic Public Affairs Conference has joined with supporters in other states to encourage the Governor's to authorize the state's participation in the program.
