Parents Raise Concerns about Social Indoctrination of Young Children in West Hartford Schools

The Catechism of The Catholic Church recognizes that parents are the primary educators of their children, while states and local boards of education appear to have an opposite view.

The national trend of parents becoming more involved in what their children are being taught about racism and sexuality came to a head in West Hartford this month. Some parents of elementary school children in West Hartford spoke out against the school district's  "social emotional learning " curriculum and its focus on teaching the children about transgenderism. Parents felt that the books being used, starting in kindergarten, are full of gender theory at the expense of sound scientific fact relating to a person birth sex. They feel that there are better ways to educate children about being accepting of others without fully indoctrinating them with controversial aspects of gender identity. The district, as most school districts around the country went caught by parents teaching gender identity theory as fact to children, went on the defensive saying they are just teaching "social justice standards" and only right -wing conservative parents are opposed to the curriculum.  You be the judge. Read the two articles about West Hartford below.

If you are wondering about the type of harm gender indoctrination can lead to for students, read the story below about an Exeter New Hampshire High School student. This month he was  turned in by another student for sharing with her his belief that there are only two sexes, male and female. He used his Catholic faith as a source of his belief. He was reprimanded by the high school and suspended from from playing in the next football game.
