S.B. 214 AAC Consolidating Statutory Provisions Relating to Reproductive Health Care Services and Gender-Affirming Health Care Services

         Position: Seeking that minors be excluded from limitations on legal actions relating to gender-identity care or elimination of all references to gender-affirming care since the current law never had a public hearing.

H.B. 5297 An Act Concerning the Decriminalization of Possession of Small Amounts of Psilocybin

         Position: The Connecticut Catholic Public Affairs Conference is opposed to H.B. 5297 due to the negative impacts it may have on the residents of our state, including minors. The desires of the advocates to respect individual freedom, and possibly assist people suffering from mental health issues, does not outweigh the potential negative impacts the legalization of psilocybin (magic mushrooms) could potentially have on our society

S.B. 229 An Act Establishing a School Mapping Data Grant Program

          Position: The Connecticut Catholic Public Affairs Conference requested that this bill be amended so that the security program for schools called School Mapping will also be funded for nonpublic schools. The safety of all our children is important to the state.

H.B. 5101 An Act Establishing a Tax Credit for Educational Access & Opportunity Scholarships

          Position: The Connecticut Catholic Public Affairs Conference supports the establishment of a tax credit for funds donated to a scholarship foundation that supports low-income students who wish to attend a nonpublic school.

                       Failed to be voted out of Finance Committee by deadline.

          Position: The Connecticut Catholic Public Affairs Conference supports reform to the tax code to help families cope with the increasing costs of raising children.
